SUSAN Leblanc

MLA Dartmouth North

My name is Susan Leblanc. Iā€™m proud and honoured to represent the people of Dartmouth North in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly.

I live in the community with my partner, our two young children and two dogs. I am passionate about social and economic justice, and about helping to make our community a place where everyone is included and can live full, happy lives.

Before my election, I was an actor and co-artistic director of Zuppa Theatre Co, where I helped run our small not-for-profit for 20 years and represented our local theatre scene on the national and international stage. I have also been a teacher of acting and performance for many years, at Dalhousie University among other places, and have mentored countless young artists from Nova Scotia and beyond.

I have been active in the Ropeworks Community Garden, the Dartmouth Child Development Centre and now am involved with many organizations and committees of people working to make Dartmouth North the best place to live in Nova Scotia.

Elected to the legislature in May 2017, I am the NDP House Leader and NDP Caucus Spokesperson for: Health, Environment and Climate Change, Communities, Culture, Tourism & Heritage and serves as House Leader.
